Kelly Richardson studied Theater and Spanish at UC Berkeley, dance at The Ailey School in New York City, and Creative Writing at New York University. For several winters, she worked as a Ski and Snowboard instructor in Tahoe, and in the summers, as a Rescue Diver and Divemaster on scuba boats in the Channel Islands and Turks and Caicos.
She spent three years in Brazil, where she performed as an aerialist and acrobat in the Bahian circus, Picolino, and, with the support of a Fulbright scholarship, directed the documentary, Without A Net (2012) in Rio de Janeiro. The film won several awards and screened in festivals around the world.
In addition to Without A Net (2012), Kelly Richardson is known for her work on San Andreas (2015), The Shallows (2016), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017).
