Nikki Lee Hinson was born on July 18, 1988 in Cleburne, Texas to Ronda (Gentry-Edwards) a phlebotomist, and Vincent Hinson a farrier. She has one older sister, Mandi, one older step-brother Michael, a younger brother Nathan, a younger step-sister Brittany, and some German, Irish, English, and Cherokee ancestry.
An openly creative and imaginative kid, she found the love for acting at a young age. When she was twelve years old, her Aunt, a costume designer for a children's theatre in Houston, Texas, invited Nikki to a summer workshop where she was cast as Violet Beauregard in a production of "Willy Wonka". After that she was hooked, and continued to return to Houston every summer to perform with the children's theatre. Her senior year of high school she was awarded a full-ride scholarship for vocal performance, but turned it down to pursue a different path. She later returned to the same children's theatre to perform in a local touring show a few years later. For ten consecutive years after her high school graduation, Nikki stayed active in the Texas performance circuit, auditioning and performing in over 30 community, local and college theatre productions, where she received multiple awards, one of which was a best choreography award, for "Antigone" the director asked her to put together.
After taking a brief hiatus from acting and school, with a fresher look on life she went back, and obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Texas Wesleyan University, with an emphasis on directing and performance. Since then she has directed two shows, and worked on various independent film projects, which have received welcome reviews.
