Tareq Melfi is the first son to be born in a family of 9 siblings. At the age of 10 he begin to develop his business savviness by working alongside his father in running a perfume store. Due to his father's frequent business trips he often assumed the responsibility of head of the household, a responsibility that has cultivated and shaped him into the successful and driven Director he is today.
Growing up in Saudi Arabia, where movie theaters are non-existent, Tareq was determined to bring cinematic life into his home and to others around him. This seed was planted when his father gave him his first video camera at the age of 13. His humble beginnings making family films and small productions, enlisting the neighborhood children as actors, deeply rooted him in the fine art of directing and photography.
Tareq lives in Los Angeles and continues to hone his craft as a Director of Photography, Director and camera operator in feature films, drama, commercials, advertisements, music videos, short films, and documentaries. As a DP he has a unique talent for capturing the photographic impression of the directors' vision.
As for photography he specializes in dramatic, commercial, fashion, make-up, headshots portrait and portfolio photography.
In 2004 his company Pro Gamer was founded in Saudi Arabia as an Internet café and video game software store. The company later opened the branches Five Colors and Iklele Perfumes and expanded it's services to fragrances, advertising, web design and film production with Tareq being the chief creator of designs and productions. Five Colors also has an operating branch located in Los Angeles, CA functioning as a multi-media LLC.
