Michael McHenry was born in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Venice, Florida, with his brother and sister. He later moved to western Arkansas to complete high school, which his graduating class was only 17 other students. His mother and father were his primary influence in pursing a career in criminal justice. He credits his past supervising officers as his principal motivation to being a leader in law enforcement.
Michael graduated from Rich Mountain Community College with an A.A. in Liberal Arts, Arkansas Tech University with a B.S. in Emergency Administration & Management, and then received an M.A. in Intelligence Studies at the American Military University. Maintaining a 4.0 GPA, he will soon earn a second M.A. in Security Management.
Michael is an active member with the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), International Defense Pistol Association (IDPA), National Tactical Officer's Association (NTOA), and the Arkansas Tactical Officer's Association (ATOA). He recently graduated from the Criminal Justice Institute's School of Law Enforcement Supervision and the F.B.I.'s Crisis/Hostage Negotiator program. Michael has served in numerous law enforcement capacities throughout his career, including patrol, detention officer, dispatcher, warrants, court security, and parole/probation. Michael graduated from the Parole/Probation Officer Academy and received honors as the Distinguished Graduate and Top Marksmanship. He is a published author in law enforcement training and tactics and has received recognition for his work in the criminal justice field.
Michael enjoys playing poker (a.k.a. "who's the best liar"), paintball competitions ("more fun than treadmills"), and going to the movies ("nothing compares to an 800 inch movie experience").
