Lucas Bonolo

Biography

Lucas Bonolo is a Brazilian filmmaker, photographer and actor. His last work, the short film "Estonia" (29 min, 2012), was presented at Cannes SFC, Biarritz (in competition), Havana (in competition), FID Marseille and Rio de Janeiro's CurtaCinema, awarded with the audience prize for best film in Spanish. Born at São Paulo (Brazil) inside an immigrant Italian family, Lucas studied theater and music in his youth, at Macunaima School of Drama and Free University of Music Tom Jobim. After graduating as a professional actor, he was admitted at the career of Journalism at University of São Paulo (USP), the most prestigious university in South America. Through USP, he attended exchange programs at universities of Granada (Spain) and Genova (Italy), in Sociology and Arts departments. Back to Brazil, Lucas was admitted at Cuba International School of Cinema (EICTV), founded by Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez. There, he frequented the 3-year course with master in documentary film-making. Lucas has also worked as a film photographer, editor, journalist at press agencies (as Italian ANSA), television producer, actor and recently as a still photographer and assistant for Fashion market and magazines.
