Joanna Kathryn Gifford, born in Tyler, TX, is best known for her role as Remi in the RKHill film, "Rift", Roxanne in the Sulit Productions film, "Separated", and as Serena in the Sulit Productions film, "Crowned".
Joanna began acting and modeling at a young age, in mainly local and community productions. After receiving her BFA in visual arts, she spent a year in Glasgow, Scotland where she became friends with Angela Darcy, a Scottish actor and singer. They met during yoga teacher certification training in Aberfoyle, Scotland. Gifford was inspired to once again put aside her fears and pursue her dream of becoming an actor, but she didn't know where to begin. A few years later she befriended Kim Jackson (also via the yoga community) and began taking scene study classes with her at the Carol Hickey Acting Studio in Austin, TX. The 8hr weekly drive was worth it to study among passionate actors in the Austin area. Soon after Joanna auditioned for her first short film and a landed one of the lead roles. Gifford hasn't looked back.
As well as acting and modeling, Joanna is a conceptual artist ( a graduate student in the MA/MFA coordinated degree plan at The University of Texas at Tyler), a yoga teacher, and a musician (clarinet and piano).
