Alexander spent most of his life in the city of Cookeville, TN where he wrote, directed and produced short films since he was 12 years old. In 2010 he was selected to attend the National Student Leadership Conference in Washington D.C. for Filmmaking. In 2011, Alexander was selected out of hundreds of applicants to attend the prestigious Governor's School for the Arts Filmmaking Program at Middle Tennessee State University, where his short film Diminuendo was selected to premiere at the Nashville Film Festival.
Alexander attended Watkins College of Art, Design & Film where he wrote, directed and produced his 16mm short films Fortress of Darkness and Lodger on the 2nd Floor, gaining him recognition for his thematic style and a reputation for tackling ambitious material, including period pieces. For his third student production, Alexander directed his award winning historical drama, The Window East, which has screened at festivals in both the US and Canada.
Additionally, Alexander has worked on over 30 films, including award winners, Where Are All the Birds Abel, The Ohio 19th, and most recently, Chasing Ghosts, which opened the 2014 Nashville Film Festival.
