Sonya King

Originally from Selma, Alabama, Sonya grew up in sunny San Diego just one block from the beach. With encouragement from her husband, her two children and a supportive family, she entered a local comedy contest and that's all it took - she was hooked! Starting in 1999 she began working her way across the nation toiling on the comedy club circuit while performing college dates and corporate events. She has done voice over work, written for radio, and even has her own weekly radio segment for Cumulus Media. Sonya won the Carnival Cruise Competition which led to a bread deal of work for various cruise lines. She appeared on Good Morning America on ABC, but really stirred things up with her appearance on ABC's The View with Barbara Walters and Joy Behar. That led to an appearance with Joy at famed Caroline's Comedy Club in New York City. Sonya has been a professional speaker for over a decade. Her insights are shared in a way that only a seasoned comedian can achieve. She motivates and encourages audiences with her humor, humility and more humor.
