Biography

Alessia Gatti was born in Fano, a small seaside town located on the eastern coast of Italy. From the age of thirteen, she has been fortunate to work with many acting professionals. Her formal study began at age fourteen when she started honing her craft at the renowned Hamlet International School in Pesaro, Italy, directed by Fabio Galli (Intervista directed by Federico Fellini). After graduating from high school, she moved to Rome where she studied Communication at La Sapienza University. During the same year she was accepted into the Scuola di Cinema where she met the acting coach, director and actress Anna Gigante (Venice International Film Festival) who recognized her deep passion for acting and helped forward her artistic career. In the summer of 2010 Alessia flew to New York City for one month to personally study with Nicole Kidman and Juliette Binoche's acting coach, Susan Batson. At the same time Alessia met the actress and director Jordan Bayne (writer/director of The Sea Is All I Know, starring Academy Award winner Melissa Leo) and began consistently studying with Jordan. Alessia is a member and a moderator of The Lab New York - Madrid, an international community founded by Jordan Bayne, of actors and filmmakers who are creating exciting works in film and theatre on a global scale. Another important figure in her artistic growth is the actor and acting coach Federico D'Anna (L'auberge espagnole, Russians dolls). Alessia lives and works in New York City and Rome and most recently can be seen in numerous feature and short films in both Italian and English languages.
