Biography

Frankie Keane Bio With influences in Gospel, R&B, rock and classical, Frankie Keane's imaginative and distinctive interpretation of music and song are what make her a singularly unique gift. A product of two very musical and artistic parents, Frankie started off both her singing and acting roots in Chicago. She is a multiple threat as singer/songwriter; composer; lyricist; instrumentalist (piano); and accomplished stage/film actress. Since moving to New York in 2003, she has performed at legendary venues The Bitter End, Café Wha?, The Groove, The Underground among many others. Frankie made her debut Off-Broadway in director David Tobin's acclaimed review, "Pure Gospel America" and toured with the musical "If This Hat Could Talk" directed by Tony Award winner George Faison. In Chicago, Frankie was chosen The Cotton Club's "Best Young Vocalist" and has been featured solo artist at numerous venues, including Buddy Guy's Legends, The House of Blues, Pump Room, Blues Chicago, Isaac Hayes' Place, The Apartment Lounge and many more. Frankie has recorded with Universal artist Malik Yusef appearing on his 2003 debut album The Great Chicago Fire as well as in its video along with Kanye West, Common, Twista, Ron-E-Ron and Marvelous 11. In the late 1990's, Frankie sang and co-produced alongside Grammy-winning artist R. Kelly on Rockland Records. As a soloist, Frankie has shared the stage with artists such as, Danny Boy (Death Row Records), Chanté Savage (MCA), Isaac Hayes (honoring R. Kelly), Mighty Blue Kings, Youth Edition and David Josias (imi Records). She was opening act at Gospel Fest '99 and The Bernie Mac HBO Showcase. Her band opened for the legendary Koko Taylor and Dennis Miller at The House of Blues as well as Christopher Williams, Ashford and Simpson and more. She has also performed the National Anthem at several NFL and NBA games. In front of the camera and on the boards, Frankie has made her mark. She has appeared in several plays and films, including her featured role in the acclaimed Converging with Angels, named one of the best entries in the 2002 Montreal Film Festival as well as the recently released indie darling, "Theresa is a Mother" that has received wide acclaim and can be seen on Netfilx. She has been sought after to compose and perform scores for multiple film projects. The Chicago Reader praised her singing in the 2003 premiere of the stage drama Valerie Loves Me as "gritty and golden." She has had the opportunity to be directed by David Mamet, Oliver Stone, Michael Patrick King, Martin Scorsese and many other talented writers and directors. Her latest work, Hereafter Musical, which she co-wrote with her partner and Vice President of Late Night programming, Vinnie Favale, (overseeing David Letterman and most recently, The Stephen Colbert Show), garnered praise from both critics and peers and will be debuting in Argentina the summer of 2016.
