Darius Q. Smith

Darius (Q) Smith has been modeling since the age of 4 months old. His first Principal/National shoot was for Kodak. He took interest in Television at 3 years old and was reading long before he even started preschool. His first screen test was for Skippy Peanut Butter. Absolutely shocking the producers by actually memorizing the commercial script and hitting his mark, in only two takes the director wanted to sign him virtually on the spot. At that age he was more intrigued with the cameras so the decision was made to start him working first on doing clothing print ads at age 4. By the age of 6, he was interested in Chess. Being the youngest on the schools chess team, he was playing against 6th graders and winning. He was playfully called the new little Bobby Fisher as he able to get his opponents in check mate so quickly, he began to train with a Retired Lithuanian Chess Expert J. Liuga who taught Darius the strategy. Darius also spent quite a bit of time at Washington Square Park, in New York City Parks watching speed Chess. When his Instructor Suddenly Passed away, Darius tucked that part of his life away in his heart. At the age of 8, Darius decided he was ready to not only make a commitment to the Fashion & Film Industry, and entered a Talent contest in Atlanta, GA again taking the crowd by storm, the Talent Agents that judged scored him as a triple threat! He was signed by an Agency through the Atlanta Film & Fashion Industry getting a photo project for FUBU Clothing. He did a Promotional Ad for Coke a Cola, which was an Award winning photo as he was invited to Las Vegas. Darius was signed by the CEO of a Record Label recording his first single "Everything" spending countless of hours working on his first CD at the age of 9. Darius has never had a fear of performing as he is from an extremely large family of musicians and singers on both sides of his family. He has opened shows for AFF. He also did a family,radio rap song which was his second single titled "Children Hold on. Darius has compassion for children and families less fortunate than himself, and made a sizable financial donation to Partnership Against Domestic Violence, as well as Singer John Legend's foundation Show Me. Darius has been a special guest at many of John Legends events and Concerts,deeming him as his mentor. The Stephens family opened their hearts calling him an extended part of their family. He did a PSA for the Show Me Campaign wanting to help stop hunger around the globe. He has met so many celebrities such as Big Boi from the Group Outcast who said "Lil man got skills" His Grammy Award winning uncle Producer N.H. Pogue & Aunt R&B singer and Former Model Cherokee Pogue From Hollywood CA believes he is destined to go far in the Entertainment Industry. Darius biggest asset is his humility as he has a great circle of friends. His personality gravitates towards so many. Even Tyra Banks Americas Next Top Model Contestant & Model Natalie Hall would playfully tease him calling him her future husband. Darius had also found a passion for writing,at age 10 and has written and had published two children's books. His creativity has also inspired him to write and collaborate two screen plays. He also did a Runway Fashion show sponsored by Macy's at the Fabulous Fox Theater. He was cast and worked two years for Cartoon Network Fridays at TBS. He had the opportunity to meet Actor/Singer/Dancer Omarion Grandberry. He Left Atlanta and headed to the Tri state of NY & NJ. working on various projects. He loves sports. Football & Basketball being his favorite. He loves to collect various colors of baseball caps and kicks to match. He also spends a great deal of free time doing community service projects by following in the footsteps of his Socially Active Great-Grandmother the late Tessie O Massey. Darius has received many awards for his talents, but by far his best is the Presidential Academic Achievement Award in 2010 for Academic Excellence. He holds a GPA of 3.8 as an AG student in Spring Hope NC where he resides with his Mother and brothers.
