Joëlle Agathe was born in Québec City in May. As far as she can remember, she was always attracted by arts. She graduated in Production Cinema at the National Institute of Image and Sound (INIS) in 2012. INIS is a private professional training center that offers curriculums in the film industry whose training is based on practice, the understanding of professional realities, teamwork and the development of skills to create and support original movie ideas. Since her graduation from this highly competitive program, she was able to actively put her knowledge into practice by immediately producing films.
She has been working in production since 2009/10, in both Quebec City and then in Montreal. She started of with production of entertainment and comedians on stage, then quickly realized that her passion belongs to advertising, commercials, television and cinema. She has worked in various positions on set for several of the largest broadcasters, agencies and production companies in the French part of Canada. Her most recent contract was as a commercial delegate producer for a company called Splash Productions, where she replaced the president of the company while she was on maternity leave in 2013. She has produced more than fifty productions of all kinds - fiction, advertisements, commercials, corporate videos, web, media creativity and videoclips -. From her prior experiences and new ambitions, she has founded her own production company Aléas Films that mostly produces Indie films. Her movies are currently being shown in several international major film festivals.
