Biography

Born in Athens in 1979, Sergios Kobogiorgas has been widely known after his appearance in Super Demetrions. Film's success in 2011 Thessaloniki festival was a first step for his career, but Kobogiorgas soon realized he was meant to be an activist actor, participating since then in many plays supporting human rights. From 2012 he has been joining two theatrical groups, the famous "Theater of the oppressed" (TOTO) with which he has gained so much publicity within Greece, and his less-known side-project, a physical theater team. With TOTO, Kobogiorgas has significantly awakened society towards most important social topics of prejudice and racism, inspiring modern philosophers as Tasos Giouzepas. His physical theater project has been initially accepted with much criticism by the public, due to the vast failure of "Bog and Little", the famous play of German writer Botho Strauß. Criticism of team's performance has been accompanied by accusations of gray marketing attempts, when products of Colgate were distributed outside theater "Empros", though the team and Kobogiorgas seemed unaware of this promo event. However, "Human zoos" has been an outstanding success, establishing Kobogiorgas (lead actor on that play) as one of the most prominent actors in political theater. In the mean time, he had a cameo in Thanassis Vassileiou film, Traces (2016).
