Homare Sawa

Homare Sawa is a former footballer from Tokyo, Japan. She was considered one of the most exciting football prodigies in Japanese history and made her professional club debut aged only 12 years, and her international debut just three years later. A World Cup winner, she is Japan's all-time leader in both goals and appearances and was voted Asian Player of the Year twice. She remains the only Asian footballer, male or female, to be named FIFA's best player in the world, in 2011.
