Fred Chong

Fred Chong is the founder of PRODIGEE MEDIA, an established media entertainment company in Malaysia. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering (BE) and a Masters degree in Engineering Management (MEM) from Canterbury University, New Zealand. He is an award winning music producer and a patriotic individual that champions the spirit of multi-cultural harmony in the country. British Council also nominated him as Music Entrepreneur of the Year in Malaysia for his achievement in promoting local music to the regional market. Following his success in music, Fred ventured into film making in 2011 and produced the 1Malaysia film Nasi Lemak 2.0 directed by his artiste, Namewee. In addition to the box office success of Nasi Lemak 2.0, the film also continued it's recognition on international level including selection from established film festivals like Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, Osaka Asian Film Festival, Okinawa Film Festival, Puchon Korea Fantastic Film Festival and New York Asian Film Festival. In addition to producing, Fred Chong also co-wrote Namewee's film and produce the music for the film's original soundtrack. His company Prodigee Media will produce two more films in 2012 (directed by Namewee), which will bring more Malaysian films to the international platform.
