Joel Dawson Bates

Joel Dawson Bates was born on April 26, 1993, in Glasgow, Scotland, where he lived for a very short period before moving near to Liverpool, England, where he attended school. Involving himself in amateur stage productions since he was nine, Bates later at the age of fifteen joined his local youth theatre group 'Off The Ground', with whom he performed in five productions. During his later school years, Bates became involved with 'Film Instinct', a low-budget film company which set Bates on his first film role as 'Davis' in Richard Weston's digital film 'The Young' in 2011. After the premiere of 'The Young', Bates enrolled at the University of Kent to study Drama with English & American Literature.
