Otha D. Smith Jr. is an American born Producer, Director, Author and Financial Sales Executive. Smith was born in Chicago, Illinois to Mildred Smith, daughter of Sharecroppers, Jeff and Eliza Stockling of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Otha Dell Smith Sr., a Blues Singer that hailed from Belzoni, Mississippi.
Otha Smith attended Chicago's Lindblom Technical High School. He also attended the University of Alabama, where he majored in Advertising and Marketing with a minor in Computer Science.
He pledged and was inducted into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated in the Spring of 1982.
In 2005, Otha married Carrie Shearer, from Rock Island, Illinois; one of the Quad cities that share the borders of Illinois and Iowa. They have two daughters.
His Producer and Director credits include the Series "3 Guys In A Booth", and the two Series in development, "3 Girls In A Booth" and "3 Kids In A Booth". He is also the Creator of all three.
He is also the author of "You're An Idiot If...", a book that pokes fun at the many idiotic things that people do at work, at play, in relationships, and in many other every day situations, and wrote the 1992 script, Probable Cause. The script was never picked up.
Otha supports Learn Charter Schools of Chicago, the Gene Siskel Film Center, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, and Africa International House.
