Sonat Duyar

Sonat studied Physics Engineering, but leaned towards a career in filmmaking after having written, produced and directed, in 2010, "Comando", a no-budget war short film which won multiple awards. He lived for two years in London, where he worked as a Marketing Coordinator for the London Film Academy, but in 2012, a proposal from a private investor brought him back to his home country Portugal, to co-found the production company New Light Pictures, where he took the role of Creative Director. While at the helm of the company he wrote, produced and directed multiple short films, commercials and music videos, working with actors like Diogo Morgado, Diogo Amaral, Vera Kolodzig and Rita Martins, as well as artists like Jimmy P, Valete and DJ Ride. In early 2015 he started working as the Creative Director of Masterdream Digital Movie, a production house based in the Algarve, where he resides. He occasionally lectures screen-writing and directing courses at Etic Algarve.
