Biography

Perry was born in south Los Angeles, 1949 with 3 brothers before him. He taught himself how to play musical instruments once in high school, then took off back east to Ohio to play in bands, working his way back to the west, where he would start his own band. Then with many acquisitions and restructuring finally in 1971 developed the band "A Taste of Honey", with himself on keyboards, Donald Johnson on drums, Hazel Payne on lead guitar, and Janice Marie Johnson bass player and current carrier of the band name and music performances. In 1991 Perry moved to Canada where he became a very profitable and important music producer; creating more music bands such as, "Clear Image" a very popular band in the city of Calgary. Perry was instrumental in developing the music scene in the city of Calgary Alberta Canada by adding music duets, trios, and old fashioned big bands to small and large restaurant establishment around the city. He could always be seen at any of many jam sessions going on around the city. In 1998 Perry was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and was confined to his home, where his sister Janis McQuinton cared for him until he died in February of 1999.
