Biography

Nadia DiMofte is an Emerging Filmmaker who moved to Vancouver in 2010 with her husband, actor Raresh DiMofte. DiMofte has written, produced and directed her first short - FRaiLNeSS, in 2014, which stars Raresh DiMofte. Her short was accepted at the Short Film Corner section of the Cannes Film Festival the same year where DiMofte negotiated a distribution deal. Nadia DiMofte was always into writing, discovering the truth and telling beautiful stories, those being the main reasons for her BA in Journalism/Communication. She always had a passion for film as a great medium of expression but only since her work for the Cannes Film Festival in 2008 she actively started pursuing this dream. Her move to Vancouver was part of her strategy to built a new career as a filmmaker, as well as establishing her own small production company - Bad Icon Production$. Her background is in Event Organizing, Marketing and Business Development. She has international experience in both corporate and small business as well as NGO's, where she promoted brands, products and services while organizing hundreds of events (including fundraisers) of all sizes and purposes. DiMofte is also a strong believer in volunteering one's time and skills for the benefit of others, therefore she contributes to developing the local indie film community as the Regional Director of Raindance Vancouver (since 2014), a chapter of the Raindance International, London, UK, a not-for-profit organization supporting independent filmmakers since 1992 through organizing the oldest and biggest indie film festival in Europe as well as offering ongoing courses, workshops, networking events and a Masters degree for filmmakers in partnership with Staffordshire University.
