A graduate of UC Berkeley, Jacob originally trained as a jazz saxophonist before transitioning into pop music, creating and leading his eclectic soul/funk/pop bands Witchdoctor (Berkeley) and Beggarman Thief (associated with the Black Rock Coalition, New York) in the 90s.
Since 2000, Jacob has explored his long-held interest in film, composing soundtrack music for the independent film Divided We Stand (2000) and serving as Associate producer for the first installment of the underground hit documentary series Hidden Colors (I). He has also appeared on TV commercials, video games, TV programs and feature films in Japan, as actor, singer and voice-over artist.
Since completing his first self-produced short Save the Dog in 2015, Jacob has been working with a Japan-based filmmaking team to produce a new short film ("First Date in Osaka"), while working on subsequent short and feature length screenplays for 2016.
