Christopher Sandberg

Biography

Christopher Sandberg's passion is strong scripted drama, with rich audience participation using broadcast, games, social media and events in complete transmedia productions. Sandberg is CEO and Chief Creative Officer at The company P, with two International Emmy Award winning production from four nominations. Sandberg's first major participatory television drama series (Producer), The Truth About Marika (SVT), was awarded the International Emmy Award in 2007, along with multiple other international and national awards. The project is considered one of the most influential productions in the genre. The social media episode for prime-time show Endgame, was awarded the 2012 International Emmy (Transmedia consultant). Sandberg was Executive Producer and Creative Director for Conspiracy For Good, with Tim Kring (the creator of Heroes and Touch), nominated for an International Emmy in 2011, awarded two Banff World Media Awards and receiving several other awards same year. Before that, Sandberg created a participatory national digital TV-channel with TV4. Sandberg headed the 2009 production of Dollplay, with Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer) for 20th Century FOX Television. Sandberg is currently developing the international transmedial show Treasures, with the European Broadcasting Union and partners. The drama series The Spiral, initiated by The company P, SVT and VRT, aired in ten territories simultaneously in 2012, starring notably Swedish star Tuva Novotny (Eat Pray Love), and was nominated for the 2013 International Emmy Award. Sandberg advices Walt Disney Imagineering on game and play driven stories. Sandberg is currently responsible for the course on Participative Storytelling at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts.
