Jason McQuarrie

Biography

Growing up on a farm in northern Ontario, Jason was always interested in the arts and visual story telling. His parents always supported his artistic nature and propelled him to Toronto to start his career. He graduated from Humber College's Film and Television Production Program in 2011. As an independent Production Designer and Art Director, Jason McQuarrie is an emerging artist in the Toronto film industry. Gaining experience through TV Series, Feature Films and Independent Productions, Jason has worked as an assistant designer in the DGC and also carries a reputation as Production Designer and Art Director for award-winning independent Feature Films, Short Films and Music videos. Jason has leaped into lead art department roles with ease, finding his first feature length opportunity as production designer on Rue Morgue Cinema's "The Last Will And Testament of Rosalind Leigh"(2012). This focused Jason on his career path leaning more towards production design than directing. Working as a member of the Directors Guild Of Canada, Jason will continue to break through the film industry while paying his dues in the Art Department under the Guild. Fortunate for his experiences and opportunities, Jason will continue to make films and create stories for the audiences to enjoy may it be in the art department or directing. He hopes he will one day bare a resemblance to the talented conceptual artist with the same last name, Ralph McQuarrie - Star Wars (1997)
