Feike Santbergen

Feike Santbergen (7 November 1986, Arnhem, Netherlands) graduated in 2010 'with honors' at the Utrecht School of Arts as writer and director for fiction with his film Solely Here (Alleen Hier, drama 45min.). In 2007 Santbergen stayed with Dutch-Australian filmmaker Paul Cox (Man of Flowers, Innocence, Molokai) for his internship. A lasting friendship emerged that still is of great inspiration to Feike. After his internship he made Four Eyes (Vier Ogen, 11 min. drama), a personal film about the loss of his sister in 2004. (Premiere NFF 2008) After film school Feike started Filos Film with producer Maaike Kuin. In 2011 he wrote and directed Hazel (Greek, 7 min, experimental - Festival de Cannes 2011) and Corps Accords (French, 13 min, drama). Corps Accords premiered at the Dutch Film Festival in the Best Debut Competition 2011, screened at Festival de Cannes 2012, received an honorable mention at the LA New Wave Festival en was selected for the international competition of Film fest Dresden 2012 and the Oregon Independent Film Festival 2012 - a.o.. In 2012 Feike wrote and directed the short film 'Back window'('AchterRuit' 18min. drama), a story in which a grand daughter and her loving grand father struggle with Alzheimer's that threatens their bond (with: Hans Croiset, Micha Hulshof and Fockeline Ouwerkerk a.o.). In a special collaboration with Sophie Kohn, Feike wrote and directed a short film called 'To Music', featuring director Paul Cox, pianist Tamas Vasary, ballerina Henriett Tunyogi and musician Roger Glanville-Hicks. Both films are still to be released. To Music will have it's premier at the Bahamas International Film Festival 2012 (BIFF), and will also be screened at Roger Ebert's own Ebert Fest in April of 2013. Four Eyes(2008), Solely Here(2010), Corps Accords(2011), Hazel(2011), Back Window(2012) and To Music(2012) are all represented on the international market by Shorts International London.
