In 2010 after years of writing screenplays and having studios, production companies, and agents dismiss them wholesale unread as "unsolicited material," Stuart decided to write an original script intended for himself to produce and direct as a no-budget independent feature. So, he intentionally wrote a story which could be produced with limited resources, cast local talent, and purchased the necessary equipment to shoot a high-definition, digital video feature. Countless sleepless nights, a lot of sweat, and fourteen months later, the editing of "Exsanguination" concluded.
