Giovanni Buccomino studied at the University of Rome and gained a Masters in History and Philosophy. While studying he worked in sound, moving from the field of music to films. In 2010 he directed his first feature 'The Valley of the moon', selected at Festival dei Popoli and Hot Docs among others. From 2012 he directed docs for international networks like Al Jazeera, The Guardian and INGOs, as well as working as a sound designer and field recordist in fiction and documentary. Giovanni was executive producer and sound designer on Naziha Arebi's feature 'Freedom Fields' (TIFF 2018), he is a Sundance Lab fellow working on his feature film 'After A Revolution'.
