James Cawley

Director James Cawley is considered to be one of the most innovative filmmakers in Utah. From short films to features, his expertise is sought after on both sides of the camera and in the editing room. Known by his peers as an After Effects guru, Cawley has an innate talent to imagine what other can't see. Drawing inspiration from both life and death, he takes the ordinary and twists it into new shapes. Cawley has filled every film crew position from concept to script to auditions to filming to post-production. His efforts have resulted in dozen of awards including Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Film, Best Editing, Best Drama, Best Kill, Best Cinematography, Best Actor, and more. Always willing to share his knowledge, Cawley works with up-and-coming filmmakers of all ages in the local film community. When not working on his latest release or helping fellow filmmakers with their projects, you'll find him running his video production company, Ridgeline Creative. At just 27 years old, he's also a partner in UPSIDE360, a social networking software company based out of Salt Lake City, Utah.
