Luis Mendez is a director/writer/producer with over 10 years of experience. Ohio-born, raised in Homestead, Florida. Son of immigrants and the first in his family to graduate from high school. He is a descendant of Mexican Christian freedom fighters "Mexican Cristeros War" and historic innovators. He was raised in very poor and violent neighborhoods, where he had several close brushes with death. He has an MFA in film production from Florida State University's College of Motion Picture Arts, one of the most prominent film schools in the United States. Aside from directing, writing and producing, he is experienced in various positions throughout development, pre-production, production, and post-production. He has freelanced in Los Angeles, Tampa and Miami on over 100 different projects, ranging from television network shows, television pilots, shorts, commercials, corporate videos, music videos, music festivals and independent feature films. He's worked with recognizable brands and companies like; Univision Television Studios, Kreate Studios, Coca-Cola, VH1, Zurich Insurance, Weight Watchers, Netflix, The CW, Authentic Apparel, Cosmic-Cut, Bigfish Entertainment and the Miami Marlins. As well as having written, produced and directed several award-winning short films.
