Jose Rodriguez-Robles

Jose Rodriguez is a film editor and director born in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico in 1984. He showed interest in filmmaking since he was in High School. He wanted to become a 3D Animator or Visual Effects Artist. Since no university offered a program in animation in his home town he decided to earn a degree in Engineering in Computer Systems. During his Junior year in college he went as an exchange student to The University of New Mexico where he found out a program called Media Arts focusing in different areas of filmmaking such as Directing, Writing, Producing and Production Design. The program caught his attention and he started developing an interest in Directing and Producing. When he returned to Mexico in his spare time he started looking for a Film School to pursue a Master's Degree. He found out that The USC School of Cinematic Arts was the most prestigious of all. He applied and was in shock when he found out he was admitted. As many of his class he wanted to become a Director and decided to learn more by taking classes in Editing, Cinematography and Producing. That's when he developed a passion for Editing. Earned his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Computer Systems from ITESM in 2007.
