Lareina Joelle

Born as Lareina Joelle Wong, Lareina has and continues to live a multicultural life. She was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and has lived in Hong Kong, San Diego, and currently, Los Angeles, as well as traveled abroad to many cities across Europe and mainland China. At a young age, Lareina developed an advanced fluency of music, later transferring her talents to a variety of instruments and various art media. At the age of 16, Lareina graduated high school and then university with her B.A. at the age of 19. Curious as a child, she began experimenting with film, but it wasn't until college that she discovered and embraced her passion for filmmaking. In 2008, while simultaneously completing high school as well as studying at a local college, Lareina was nominated for an Emmy Award for her student short film, Voir Dire by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. By Fall of 2010, she began her undergraduate film studies at California State University Long Beach focusing in Film Direction. During that period she directed several short films: The Psychiatrist, Mother's Love, and additionally was awarded the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Grant for her last undergraduate film, Geneius, which she wrote, directed and edited. Upon graduating in 2012 with her B.A. in Narrative Film Production, 'Cum Laude' honors, Lareina has directed and edited numerous projects consisting of narrative films (features and shorts), documentaries, series, promotional and commercial. Lareina is currently in her last year at USC School of Cinematic Arts to attain her M.F.A. in Film & Television Production.
