Biography

Charly was born and raised in Breda (the Netherlands). In 2004 when he was in high school at Mencia Sandrode, Charly started making movies for the first time with friends. He graduated from high school in 2007. Because Charly wanted to be a video editor he started studying at the creative college named Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam and graduated in 2011. During this study he specialized himself in video editing but also learned as many aspects of video as he could. Knowing that video editing is something he loves he also knows that he wants to do more in film so Charly is focusing to become a producer. To do that he has chosen to do a communication study at the Fontys Academy for Creative Industries because he wants to learn more than only producing. The first film Charly was a part of was the 48 Hour Film Project short 'Goud' as video editor in 2010. After 12 times competing in the 48 Hour Film Project Charly's team won the 48 Hour Film Project Utrecht in 2013 with the movie 'Blokje Om' which also was selected at the Cannes Court Metrage 2014. Charly's feature film debut as a producer and video editor was in 2014 with 'Na De Regen'. This feature film was made in just 48 days by the three 48 Hour Film Project teams Spelbrekers, The Long And Short Of It and Rosebud as part of the 48 Days Film Project.
