Dominic Mercurio is a San Francisco based filmmaker, talented video editor, and musician. His latest project, a stunning one-take music video he directed for Foxtails Brigade's single "Far Away and Long Ago", was awarded Best Music Video at the Atlanta Underground Film Festival 2015 and was featured on music blogs such as PopMatters and The Bay Bridged.
Far Away and Long Ago continues his recent trend of writing, directing and editing music videos such as an award-winning performance music video for The Family of Man, and an abstract microscopic music video for ElectroSonic Chamber. He also edited the short film Catch The Clock (NYCIFF Official Selection), the award-winning period piece Lockwood, and directed a commercial for the Yes on Prop 19 campaign.
Dominic's narrative short film work such as the 30-minute Nuclear Family, which was screened in SF theaters in 2011, celebrates the oddness of ordinary people. Using subtle humor and unflinching insight, he aims to peel back layers of normalcy to unmask themes such as obsession, dysfunction and redemption.
Outside of film, he plays drums in two Oakland-based bands: Foxtails Brigade and Ghost Town Jenny. He has played at major venues and festivals across San Francisco and beyond; such as The Fillmore, Great American Music Hall, El Rey, Noise Pop, and SXSW.
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dominic has a B.S. in Digital Film and Video Production from the Art Institute of California - San Francisco.
