Yangyang Cheng was born on July 9th, 1981 in Hunan, China, and grew up in Beijing.
From 2009 - 2012, Yangyang was the host and field reporter of "Hello! Hollywood," the Chinese equivalent of Entertainment Tonight. Yangyang conducted interviews with A-list celebrities, anchored for entertainment news, and reported live for award shows as well as other major Hollywood events. Her role on "Hello! Hollywood" included introducing the American lifestyle to millions of Chinese viewers across more than 50 channels in the U.S. and China.
In 2014, Yangyang hosted "Oh My Buddha," a Discovery Network show, to educate viewers on the cultural and linguistic similarities between India and China. Her part on the show also included introducing the influences these two countries have had on each other in cuisine, religion, lifestyle, and technology.
Yangyang is also credited as a dialect coach in the movie "Shanghai Calling". She taught Eliza Coupe Mandarin, transforming her from an absolute beginner level with no prior knowledge of the Chinese language, into someone who could play the role of a fluent mandarin speaker.
Yangyang now utilizes her experience in entertainment to teach Mandarin Chinese with video lessons through her online education company, Yoyo Chinese Inc., of which she is the founder and CEO. Currently, Yangyang Cheng resides in Los Angeles, California.
