Bertha Edward Oliver

Bertha Edward Oliver was born in Amherst County, Virginia, USA to John Willis Oliver and Elizabeth Frances Oliver (nee Waugh). She was married to William Thomas Doss, with the couple having three children - Audrey Doss, Desmond T. Doss and Harold Doss. The couple's grandchildren are the son of Desmond T. Doss - Desmond Doss Jr.; daughters of Harold Doss - Jeannie and Carol Ann; and son of Audrey Doss - Ronald Wayne Millner. Oliver appeared in the 1959 episode of Desmond Doss (1959) , about the life of her son Desmond T. Doss . She is portrayed by Rachel Griffiths in the 2016 Mel Gibson movie Hacksaw Ridge (2016). Oliver passed away on 6 April 1983 in Lynchburg City, Virginia, USA.
