Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts Melysette would spend her childhood recording fake radio shows and acting out TV shows and movies with friends. In high school, she joined The Drama Club, was the recipient of All Star Cast Awards from the Massachusetts Drama Guild, and was awarded a drama scholarship her senior year. She went on to study broadcasting, and after a year became a ring announcer on the independent wrestling circuit writing articles and appearing as a guest on related AM radio shows. Things were going well, but Mel wanted to start a family and moved down south and studied university. After a few years, her passion for writing and radio were reignited and she'd later become a guest and help create/produce podcasts with the Hyphen Podcast Group. A lover of horror, Mel created the podcast A Frightful Fret to help bring new life to scary old books, and went on to star as a horror host named Countess in the video Carnival of Horror based on characters she created for a podcast Halloween special.
