Gigi is a well traveled soul who grew up in different countries, making her appreciate the cultural variety that exists in the world. She was born in Barcelona, Spain and lived there until she was 4, whereupon she moved with her mom to Costa Rica and grew up surrounded by nature, earth and sea. At the age of 12, following her mom's nomadic soul, she left wild-nature and entered a Jungle, the Concrete Jungle of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Finishing secondary school In Argentina, Gigi entered a Medical School, but after six months of study she realized that it was not for her. So she quit and went to Barcelona, lived with her Grandparents and did a Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, continuing sports, exploration of nature and sea, having fun - something she keeps on doing to this day.
In 2011 Gigi got her Open Water Divers license. Following her passion of life for the sea, she moved to Australia where she completed a Masters Degree in Marine Biology and Ecology and became more involved in marine research projects. She worked as a Safety Diver for HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training), as a dive master on a Liveaboard across the Great Barrier Reef, as well as tutor for undergraduate students.
In 2015 Gigi moved to Koh Lanta in Thailand where she became a Dive Instructor and worked the season, but then decided to return to Spain. On the Eastern Coast of Mallorca, she now owns the Dive Center - Albatros Divingon, where she is also creating a research base for marine scientists and educational qualifications for her local community. In 2021 she joined the nonprofit organization Daughters of the Deep as a board member, with the commitment to help open paths and horizons for future generations.
