Jamie was born in South Africa where after years of doing dance, he finally discovered that he had a love for film, partially screenwriting. Ever since watching the 1996 Horror Slasher, Directed by Wes Craven and Written by Kevin Williamson, 'Scream', Jamie has since fell in love with writing, and is inspired to create a film that has such a huge following that 'Scream' has. Jamie studied filmmaking at one of South Africa's film schools, 'AFDA', where for the first year of his studies, he had to take on several disciplines (subjects) before going into his second year. During his first year at College, he studied, Acting (Screen & Stage), Directing/Writing, Producing, and Make-Up & Styling, in which he took Writing and Producing into his second year of studies. During his second year, he was a Producer for several student short films, and he produced one of his very own written short films for the school. Going into his third and final year, Jamie took Screenwriting as his major, and had Producing as a second discipline. Jamie worked as a Script Supervisor on two sets, one for an 'Experimental Festival', and the other, 'Graduation Festival'. The Graduation Festival short film he worked on as the Script Supervisor is titled, 'The Prey', and this short film has won numerous awards at International Film Festivals, as well as receiving honorable mention at the Hollywood Gold Awards, and London Movie Awards. Jamie graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Motion Picture Medium, and he now has an upcoming short film in which he has written and produced in Canada, titled, 'The Movie Star', coming soon. A few of Jamie's short scripts have already been selected at International Film Festivals, such as Onyko Film Awards, First-Time Filmmaker Sessions @Pinewoods, The First-Time Screenwriters Showcase, as well as, Wildsound Daily Screenplay Festival.
