KSPTexan first joined YouTube in 2015. He always wanted to make videos, but didn't know where to start. To quote him:
"I've had a YouTube account ever since 2015, but I only used it for liking, commenting, / subscribing. While I did toy with the idea of uploading my own content, I had no idea where to start... nor what to even make videos of. At first, I wanted to make videos of one of my favourite games as a child: Kerbal Space Program. While I loved the idea, external factors like school and sports cutted into my free time, and I soon dropped the idea. KSP lives on though, as I have featured it in both videos and my name (That's what the "KSP" and "KSPTexan" means)." While he knew about Splatoon ever since its announcement in 2014,Texan never considered making Splatoon content until July 2019.
In January 2020, Texan believed he was ready, and began work on his most popular video: The "Ballad of the Black Berets: The First Volley". The video was a success, garnering nearly 31,000 views and over 410 likes. However, after TFV was released, KSPTexan would do something... uncalled:
"I rewrote the script... after uploading the prologue episode. I wasn't happy with what I currently had, so I said "forget it" and canned the original script. Mistake? It's too early to tell. I hope to go back one day and reanimate the Prologue Episode to bring it in line with what I currently have planned. "
KSPTexan threw out the BOBB plot and re-did it. The second BOBB installment, and the first one with the new plot, Defenders and Defectors, has received only about 1,600 views and 58 likes. DFDF would be the first of many videos to underperform, a trend the channel still struggles with. To make matters worse, the third BOBB animation, which will be called lThe New (Squid) Kid", has fallen behind schedule numerous times. He's also failed to make a real impression on the community, only being recognised by a handful of animators like BruceBrush, Silverreploid CLE, NeoLin, and VannaMontana106.
Despite the struggles, KSPTexan plans to keep BOBB going. "While there have been some ups and downs throughout production, I absolutely love what I do, and look forward to sharing what I have planned in the future... but more on that later." In January 2021, KSPTexan released "Bitter Beginnings," a story that can be found on his Amino page. BB is the first of a handful of BOBB Stories KSPTexan has planned, all of which aim to explore some of the events that led up to the BOBB animations. In April, "Mysterious Mercenary" was released, reinforcing the Texan's commitment to BOBB.
