Wilfred Moeschter

Wilfred is a composer for stage and screen from Toronto, Canada. He first fell in love with music from the Nintendo games his parents bought him in primary school. The emotional, melodically-focused, endlessly-looping music of Junichi Masuda and Koji Kondo are still important influences on his writing today, and he has also drawn inspiration from his favourite film composers, particularly the intimate style of Alexandre Desplat. Wilfred started writing music for theatre productions at the University of Toronto. One of his first projects was the original musical A Perfect Bowl of Pho (book/lyrics by Nam Nguyen, additional music by Sam Clark) which recently had a critically-acclaimed, sold-out run at the 2022 Toronto Fringe Festival, and has been published by Playwrights Canada Press. Wilfred completed his M.F.A. in Film Music Composition at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. His stylistic versatility and keen ability for emotional storytelling is evident in the wide range of genres that he has been able to take on at this early stage in his career.
