Born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Dinitha Vithanage is a composer and filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. Dinitha completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto Scarborough. In his final year, Dinitha was awarded the Abram Krashinsky Prize in Music for Best Original Composition. Outside of his work as a composer, Dinitha is also an independent filmmaker. He is the Writer, Director, and Director of Photography of three narrative short films. His latest film, "For a Coffin Full of Gold," earned him the award for Best Director and Best Drama at the 20th University of Toronto Film Festival. Dinitha hopes to improve his knack for genre-filmmaking while exploring more personal and intimate stories by collaborating with artists who share the same passion for filmmaking as he does.
