Frank Lehmann was born on May 4th, 1966 behind the Iron Curtain in East Germany. His childhood was shaped by the rules of communist education. To the chagrin of his politically correct teachers and educators, however, he developed into a critical student, which was his undoing after graduating from secondary school in 1982. A desired course of study was denied to him and so he learned the profession of mechanic.
Confronted with the SED regime in the former GDR, he dared to flee across the Iron Curtain at the age of 18. This venture failed and instead of the hoped-for freedom, he merely exchanged the large for the small prison cell.
After a long year of political imprisonment and the subsequent deportation to the Federal Republic of Germany, the process of coming to terms with what had been experienced began in 1985 and a process of self-discovery that lasted 20 years.
Until he became self-employed in advertising in 2005, he worked as an IT specialist in the eBusiness sector.
In 2008 he started writing children's and youth stories. This passion resulted in many stories that have been published as books and articles since 2010.
Parallel to the books, he worked on the implementation of the stories as a film and wrote his first screenplay in 2010, which was funded by the nordmedia film commission. The animated film »The Story of Little Dwiggle Scrabb« is currently in the production stage.
In addition to the production of short films, a series for children named "Xkurios" is due to start now. The pilot film for the series is in production.
There are many more ideas on his desk for the upcomming years. In addition to »Blog 2035«, a thriller with the critical background of the climate catastrophe, stories such as »Paul«, a political satire, and »The Runaways«, another animated film for children, are waiting to be released.
