Xingyu 'Harry' Chen

Xingyu Chen, who goes by Harry as his English name, is a Los Angeles and Beijing based filmmaker. Born and raised in Beijing, China, Xingyu first developed his interest in the cinematic world on the long flights between the United States and China years ago when he first came to the U.S. as an international student. He then studied at UC Santa Cruz to further broaden his horizon and earned his BA in Film and Digital Media. With a passion for horror films, Xingyu's work seeks to explore the power of fear of the unknown, while combining elements from different kinds of genres to break the boundaries. He believes that all fiction films are partially from or inspired by moments in people's life. As a result, his films are strongly affected by his personal life experiences and his bicultural background as an international student. As of 2022, Xingyu is a graduate student at Loyola Marymount University, pursuing an MFA in Film and Television Production.
