Biography

Herbert Lahr was born on 3 November 1928 in New York, New York, USA. His parents were Bert Lahr and Mercedes Delpino. He graduated from Tucson High School in 1946, and gained a Diploma - B.A. Speech, from the University of Arizona in 1952. Lahr was conscripted into the USA Air Force in 1953, and served until 1955. He married Janice Hedeman in April 1967, helping to raise her two daughters Vicki and Patti. After leaving the service, he hosted a radio show "Tales & Tunes of Happy Herb", and during 1956-1958, he was the co-host of Aunt Coral and Uncle Shoe (1956) with Shirl Vloedman Selman. Between 1964-1966 Lahr attended the Arizona University of Law; while at the same time working as a police officer of the Tucson Police Force. Lahr practiced law from 1966 until 1991 in Tucson and Sierra Vista. He passed away on 27 April 2002 in Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona.
