Rita Abrams is best know for a minor 1970s hit "Mill Valley", a song about her town, which she recorded during her time as an elementary schoolteacher under the name "Miss Abrams and the Strawberry Point Third Grade Class". A short film of the song shot at a Fourth of July event in Mill Valley, California was filmed by Francis Ford Copolla. Her subsequent work has included music for television programs and commercials, children's programs, and several musicals for stage. Her television work has won two Emmy Award for music in the News and Documentary and Regional categories.
