Biography

Born in Kluang, Johor, soprano Eve Yuen has been a lover of performing arts, especially in music and dance. Her first stage performance started at the tender age of 4. She has participated in numerous performances and competitions ever since. She holds the Master of Art in Church Music from Taiwan Theological College and Seminary, with the concentration in vocal performance. Her voice teachers include Gee Siew Mei, Tee Chooi Ming, Ian Lim Kean Seng, Grace Lin, Chu Yen Yin, Nancy Lo, Chen Hsing An, and Cecilia Yap. Since her graduation, Eve has been actively promoting church music with various sacred music associations in the area. Apart from serving as the music pastor for Shalom Presbyterian Church Kluang, where she is responsible for music trainings, Eve also conducts some church choirs in the area. In the recent years, she has been invited to conduct sacred music choral workshops, as well as being a vocal instructor in choir trainings organized by the International Christian Choral Conductor Society in both East and West Malaysia. As a soloist, Eve's concert appearances include Bach's B minor Mass for the East Malaysia Sacred Music Festival 2017, the world premiere of Mei Guang Wen's Light of the World and The Servant Song in 2016, Mozart's Mass in C for East Malaysia Sacred Music Festival 2014, Handel's Messiah for Johor Chorale's 20th Anniversary concert in 2013, and others.
