Known for his "fascinating and complex" stage presence, tenor Kevin Bryant has enjoyed a quick start to his performance career. As a member of Tri-Cities Opera's 2018-2019 Resident Artists Program, Mr. Bryant sings Goro in Madama Butterfly, Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore, and Peek in the Opera-Go-Round production of Goldie B. Locks & the Three Singing Bears. In the summer of 2019, Mr. Bryant in Bachfest Malaysia as the Evangelist in J.S. Bach's St. Matthew Passion.
During the summer of 2018, Mr. Bryant joined Wolf Trap Opera as a Studio Artist where he performed the role of Benvolio in Gounod's Romeo et Juliette. In addition, he joined the American Bach Soloists at the end of the summer in their concerts of J.S. Bach's B minor Mass as the tenor soloist and in Handel's Semele. In December 2018, he appeared with the Austin Symphony Orchestra and Chorus Austin as the tenor soloist in their concert of Handel's Messiah. Some of his recent stage performance highlights include Nerone in L'incoronazione di Poppea (Eastman Opera Theatre), Mac in the world premiere of Roscoe (Seagle Music Colony), and Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore (Southwestern Opera).
During the summers of 2016 and 2017, Mr. Bryant performed with the Seagle Music Colony. Both years, he was given the opportunity to interpret a new role in a world premiere opera: his first year as Mac in Evan Mack and Joshua McGuire's Roscoe and his second year as Hamlet in Herschel Garfein's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Mr. Bryant's concert stage career has seen him travel across America. Recent highlights as soloist include performing in Mendelssohn's Elijah, Mozart's Requiem, J.S. Bach's B minor Mass, and as the Evangelist in J.S. Bach's Weihnachtsoratorium.
A native of Georgetown, Texas, Mr. Bryant received his Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from the Sarofim School of Fine Arts at Southwestern University. While at Southwestern, he studied in the studio of tenor Nicholas Simpson. Following Southwestern University, he graduated with his Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music where he worked with mezzo-soprano Katherine Ciesinski.
