Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Tony Zhou is both a dramatic and comedic actor, best at playing quirky, eccentric or unhinged and rebellious teenagers. He landed his first ever role in a Kiwi comedy-drama series The Eggplant (2020), as the high school student Josh and later landed a lead role as Cherry in the Los Angeles award winning LGBTQ film Cherry (2022).
Tony is also occasionally a filmmaker, having made his first short, Once Upon a Time in Aotearoa (2021). A stylized Western mockumentary.
