Rory Edwards is an emerging British screenwriter and director. An alumnus of the BFI Film Academy, his short horror-comedy First Date (2016) enjoyed a festival run in Europe, including selections at Fastnet, Copenhagen and CinemaCity. While there, he also received mentorship from BIFA-winning director Rob Savage (Dawn of the Deaf, Host).
In 2020, he graduated with a first-class honours degree in Film & Television Production BA (Hons), during which his second-year horror-comedy The Regulars (2019) was screened at BFI Southbank as part of a young filmmakers showcase, and his short documentary about the modern age of gambling, At Odds (2019), premiered to online acclaim.
In 2020, he directed and co-wrote a short psychological thriller called The Small Hours (2020) (2020). The film was an official selection of Sunday Shorts, going on to win the Audience Award.
