Rory Edwards

Rory Edwards is an emerging British screenwriter and director. An alumnus of the BFI Film Academy, his short horror-comedy First Date (2016) enjoyed a festival run in Europe, including selections at Fastnet, Copenhagen and CinemaCity. While there, he also received mentorship from BIFA-winning director Rob Savage (Dawn of the Deaf, Host). In 2020, he graduated with a first-class honours degree in Film & Television Production BA (Hons), during which his second-year horror-comedy The Regulars (2019) was screened at BFI Southbank as part of a young filmmakers showcase, and his short documentary about the modern age of gambling, At Odds (2019), premiered to online acclaim. In 2020, he directed and co-wrote a short psychological thriller called The Small Hours (2020) (2020). The film was an official selection of Sunday Shorts, going on to win the Audience Award. His tastes encompass thriller, horror and subversive comedy in any combination.
