Norbert-Zsolt Szabó

Norbert was born in Romania, Oradea (1995). He is Hungarian and speaks fluent English and understands Romanian. He lives in Oradea, his parents are divorced, and he has a three years younger sister Réka. Now he works as a freelancer under "Wraith Dreams [ro]" trademark in Romania. He explored and learned to use lots of video editing programs and filmmaking techniques over the years and beliefs in life long learning. He is an open minded, free-spirited, careerist who loves to create, turning his imagination into motion picture. The flow of filmmaking is what inspires him the most. He's been exploring the world of filmmaking since he was a child. He realized his first short films in 2009 with his friends. In 2010 the Romanian class teachers, Ilisie Luminita and Beke Csaba in the school initiated a school film project with educational and entertainment purposes. Norbert realized a film with his school mates called Povestea lui Harap Alb, Varianta Moderna. It was his first amatour feature film. He started filming events, working remotely as a video editor abroad and making short films with his friends. As a volunteer he filmed and edited videos for a local talent show organized by the local association called 'Nagyváradi Magyar Diákszövetség'; 'The Alliance of Young People Of Oradea". When he was bored of high school as an eleventh grade student in 2012 he started his amatour, non-profit based movie project {Sky High Blunder} Túl Drága Kirohanás (2016). The project grown itself into a full length feature film. Since everyone worked for free on this film, it took them two years of shooting and two years of post production to finish the project. The first invitation based private screening taken place in the local cinema in Oradea, at Cinema Palace. Due to the lack of budget, the team could not rate and officially register the movie just yet. Norbert is still planning to get the movie officially rated and registered so it can reach a wider range of audience. As he said "It's too professional to be called 'amateur' and too amateur to be 'professional', but since we put into it so much effort, it worth to get it out there." The film was shot at his parents and grandparents houses, houses of friends, abandoned places, rented places outdoors and a scene was shot in the apartment now known as Vili Apartments. During the production time He became very good friends with Fodor Lénárd, Oláh Olivér and Villányi Zoltán. In 2016 he started to study Cinematography and Directing at 'Sapientia Hungarian University Of Transylvania [EMTE] - Department Of Film' He is known of short films realized with his friends like Mariann (2016) or Felszabadulás (2019). He's been working as a member of the 'Association Varadinum Film' since 2012. As a part of the Varadinum crew he works as a cameraman and multicamera editor at the local Theater 'Szigligeti Színház' in Oradea. Norbert during his university years has realized a short documentary about two villages named "Erdoszentszörgy és Bözödújfalu" which is publicly Available on YouTube. He works as a cameraman and video editor a lot with a well-known, Hungarian wedding music band called 'Euphoria Music Band'. In 2017-18, together with the health professionals of the UK based Music as Therapy International he made a documentary about the use of music in a therapeutic environment. The film followed the work and training of the health professionals who keep conferences all around Transilvania. He collaborated at some projects as a cameraman with Amazing Visuals. He finished the Varadinum Photo School with Ovi D. Pop. During the lockdowns in 2020 he was very depressed for a few months, then he got an opportunity to work for six months as a videographer and video editor at the Hungarian Opera of Cluj Napoca. He likes to read about psychology, spirituality, neurochemistry, nutrition and loves listening to podcasts with interesting topics. Likes to learn mostly from video courses. Depending on his mood he can be very serious and determined and sometimes he can be a little bit childish and loves not to take life as serious as his environment does. He has a big heart, likes to make his environment laugh and likes to realize crazy but creative ideas. Sometimes his creative nature is just a thin line between genius and crazy, some may think he is silly but this outstanding nature gives life to his creative work. He is INFJ, he has very good friends and he is romantic type.
