William schoell is a novelist and biographer. A cult horror writer, his novels include things that go bump in the night, shivers, late at night, vicious, the pact, fatal beauty, the dragon, saurian, monster world, and posthumous.
His biographies include martini man: the life of dean martin and (co-authored with lawrence j. quirk) joan crawford: the essential biography; the rat pack: neon nights with the kings of cool; and the sundance kid: the life of robert redford. As well as he wrote the career study al pacino: in films and on stage. For young adults he authored bios of dorothy dandridge and sammy davis jr.
Schoell is also author of stay out of the shower (regarding the influence of hitchcock's psycho); the nightmare never ends: the official history of freddy krueger and the nightmare on elm street films; and creature features: nature turned nasty in the movies; among others.
